Dr. Timothy Burns accepts referral from primary care physicians, orthopedic surgeons, athletic trainers, physical therapists, chiropractors, urgent care providers and school/club healthcare staff for evaluation and non-operative management sports injuries and musculoskeletal conditions.
Dr. Burns is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation (PM&R). Dr. Burns uses his training in PM&R to compliment his Sports Medicine practice. Dr. Burns performs electrodiagnostic procedures (EMG's) and performs interventional spine procedures.

FLUOROSCOPIC (X-ray) GUIDED INJECTIONS
Dr. Burns performs interventional spine procedures including lumbar epidural steroid injections, hip injection and sacroiliac joint injections, among others. For these types of injections, the skin is numbed, then an x-ray machine is utilized to guide a needle and medication to a precise location to provide maximal therapeutic benefit.

ELECTRODIAGNOSTIC MEDICINE (EMG)
Electodiagnostic medicine (EMG's) involves testing specific nerves and muscles to determine if muscle or nerve damage is present. Dr. Burns is a specialist in peripheral nerve injuries (carpal tunnel syndrome) and radiculopathies (pinched nerves in the back).
