What types of conditions do you treat?

Dr. Burns treats a broad range of conditions, non-surgically, ranging from sports injuries, including, but not limited to, injuries of the bones, joints, muscles and tendons. Dr. Burns focuses on treatment of acute (or new) conditions, however, he also treats some chronic conditions with specific therapies.

Do I need to be an athlete to be seen?

No. Dr. Burns treats athletes and non-athletes alike.

Are you a surgeon?

No. Dr. Burns is not a surgeon. Dr. Burns specializes in the treatment of non-surgical general orthopedics, sports medicine and performing arts medicine related conditions. Through comprehensive care, the hope is to prevent the need for surgery.

Insurance companies usually require patients have a referral prior to being seen. Check with your specific insurance company.

You will need your insurance card, valid ID (diver's license), list of current medications, list of past medical problems and any prior imaging (x-ray, MRI, etc.).

Does my injury need to be sports related?

No. Injuries can occur in all facets of life. Dr. Burns will treat your injury no matter the cause.

Do you treat Chronic Pain?

Maybe. Dr. Burns does not prescribed narcotic medications. He does perform regenerative medicine procedures on a certain chronic conditions. When in doubt, make an appointment to learn more.
